    Three Days of Fun

Meet Navneet and Kamarya.

This young couple got to enjoy their 3 day Indian wedding in the Cleveland area.

What a cool experience it was to photograph and film three days of a traditional Indian/Sikh wedding. I had the chance to spend three days with this incredible, diverse family, and truly enjoyed every moment. With the groom’s Indian roots and the bride’s bohemian Latin background, watching their families come together was a an interesting cultural mix that made for such a fun celebration.

The first day consisted of family time, a lot of tasty foods and interesting traditional practices. The Haldi ceremony is a pre-wedding tradition that’s full of color, laughter, and great energy. Family and friends apply a turmeric-based paste to the bride and groom, a ritual meant to bring purification, protection, and blessings as they step into married life.

The second day only got better with a full-on party night. This event felt more like a traditional wedding reception, complete with great food, drinks, dancing, and heartfelt toasts. The evening kicked off with incredible appetizers, followed by performances from family members on both sides, which led right into a packed dance floor. The night wrapped up with a full dinner, even more dancing, and time for me to capture portraits of the bride and groom.

The third and final day was spent between the church and the park. It was another opportunity for me to learn more about the Sikh religion while capturing both the meaningful traditions and the fun of the wedding day. After the ceremony and even more incredible food, we spent time photographing the couple with their families before heading to downtown Hudson to create some portraits.

I would say good luck to this young couple, but with their family around them - I know they will do great.
